Matrics, make it a night to remember
More than 400 young property professionals from across the region were transported back to the 1920s when the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) annual matrics ball was held in Leeds City Centre on Thursday 19 July.
The Gangsters and Molls themed ball was organised by matrics, the organisation for young chartered surveyors, and raised funds for St Gemma’s Hospice and the Pendragon Community Trust.
The event began with a champagne reception at the newly-completed Livingstone House office complex and one of the July’s rare warm nights meant that many guests took advantage of the Clarence Dock frontage for some evening sunshine. The party then moved across the water to Saviles Hall for a three-course dinner and dance music from Morris and the Minors, gaming tables and a shooting range.
matrics chairman Adam Varley said: “We were delighted with the venues and that so many young property professionals had such a good time. We had another record attendance this year and will be working hard to ensure next year’s ball lives up to the exacting standards we have set ourselves.”
The event was sponsored by Anders Elite, Brahm, Colliers CRE, Property Week, Walker Morris and Waterhouse.
