Ronnie The Rhino On Ice
Leeds City Council’s annual ‘Ice Cube’ on Millennium Square received a very special guest on Friday 1 February, as Ronnie the Rhino took to the ice to celebrate the start of the new Super League season.
Rhinos fans were able to skate at a special discount rate and were delighted to see Ronnie together with the Super League trophy before the team started their title defence against Hull Kingston Rovers the next day.
Cllr John Procter, Executive Board Member for Leisure, said: “Leeds is incredibly proud of the Rhinos for their achievements last season and this is a bit of payback for the fans that have supported the team along the way. We are all hoping the boys can repeat their success this year and successfully defend their title.”
The Ice Cube is the UK’s largest temporary outdoor real ice rink and is open every day (weather permitting) between 10.00am to 9.30pm Monday to Saturday (10.00am to 7.30pm on Sundays) up until Sunday 2nd March.
