Jades P.A
Local girl hit’s the big time by getting in to Jade’s P.A. final 10, from thousands of hopefuls
Jade Goody of ‘Big Brotherr’ fame was searching the
country for a new PA via reality TV show, on Living
TV.
Tara McBride, who lives in High Eldwick, first applied
months ago via the internet, then she went to London and
she queued for nine hours, nearly leaving on several
occasions. However perseverance, determination and
professionalism won out and she got through.
Over the past seven or eight weeks you may have seen Tara progress through challenge after challenge, getting nearer and nearer to achieving the position of Jade Goody's PA. Due to legal reasons we cannot tell you who wins or indeed where Tara finishes, however we can say she does very….very….very well.
Q.How did you hear about the job vacancy?
A. I was on holiday reading a magazine by the pool, some
writer was criticising Jade for doing another reality TV
programme, which was about her getting a new PA.
When I got back to the UK I scrolled the web and found
out she was, so I applied there and then with my 200
words about me.
Q. Do you want to be famous?
A. No
Q. Why did you go for a celebrity's PA then?
A. Jade would be in the public eye not her PA; I also
wanted the lifestyle without the fame.
Q. Why did you go for the job?
A. I have always wanted to be a professional celebrity PA
but you need loads of experience and it's about "who you
know, not what you know". This kind of opportunity does
not come along very often.
Q.Was the interview what you expected?
A. No. it was more like an audition. Most people were
celebrity hunters. I waited nine hours for a six minute
interview.
Q.What is the salary?
A. Between £40 and £60k with bonuses plus accompanying
Jade on all her visits abroad.
Q. Now you know Jade so well, would you be her PA if she was not a celebrity?
A. No. Her stress levels are through the roof and I would be
in the direct firing line!
Q.What surprised you most about Jade?
A. Without a doubt her drive and work ethic, as well as her
intelligence towards business. She would not do well on
Mastermind but she can run a business.
Q. What was your favourite task?
A. When the press stormed the house, I realised it was a
set-up, however it was amazing and such good fun.
Q. What was theworst part of the whole experience?
A. The cameras, they are on you 24/7, showing the good,
the bad and the ugly and we all know how production
companies can edit.
Q. Were you coached on each task?
A. A big yes, for example, when we dressed Jade, if her
thong or bra strap showed we were in trouble, so coaching
was a must.
Q. Did you get attached to Jade?
A. YES. Off camera Jade is lovely and very genuine. I think
she got attached to most of us too.
Q. Would you go through it all again?
A. Definitely. Apart from all the damn cameras.
Q.Has it changed your perspective on life?
A. Yes. I now want more out of life for me. I have finally
started to realise and achieve some of my life time goals.
