The New Cayenne GTS

Recognised as the benchmark sports SUV, the Porsche Cayenne has a unique spread of abilities that enable it to perform at the top of its class both on and off-road. The new Cayenne GTS will bring a greater focus to road performance with a lower centre of gravity, more power and a sport based specification. The Cayenne GTS will be on sale in February 2008.

More power
The 4.8-litre V8 engine from the Cayenne S has been further developed for the GTS to deliver a total power output of 405 bhp and means a sprint from 0-62 mph in a staggering 6.1 seconds with manual transmission and 6.5 seconds with the optional six-speed Tiptronic S.

Lower suspension
Uniquely, the GTS rides 24mm lower than the rest of the Cayenne range, and this new lowered suspension combines high-performance steel suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) which is an electronic damping control system that continually adjusts according to road conditions and driving style. Optimising the stability of the vehicle and the comfort of its occupants. The driver selects from three settings: Comfort, Normal and Sport. When Sport mode is selected, the suspension is set to a firmer rating for a more dynamic driving experience.

Distinctive styling
The performance capability of the GTS is reflected in its exterior design. 21-inch Cayenne Sport wheels immediately mark out the car’s cornering potential while chrome plated dual-tube tailpipes combine with a sports exhaust. The front and the rear have a Cayenne Turbo look, featuring large air intake openings for efficient engine cooling. Wider wheel arches, lower mouldings at the front, side and rear and a diffuser-style rear apron add to the dynamic presence.

GTS interior
The GTS features unique 12-way electrically adjustable sports seats with added lateral support. The rear seats have a sporty, two-seater look but are actually designed to sit up to three adults. All seat backs are covered in Alcantara which also extends to the roof lining and gear lever. Inside the cockpit an extended leather package covers the dashboard, centre console, door panels and steering wheel.
