Dominos

My children love pizza’s but don’t all kids? I am not a big fan nor is my partner, however now and again you just fancy one, and it does give you brownie points with the kids.
Choosing the right place to order a pizza take out is very important when it is such a rare treat. Pizza Hut is a definite no, as the last time we did the delivery man would not pass me the pizza’s until I had paid him, which to say it was a home delivery surprised me. Where was I going to run…..my living room?
Domino’s was our final choice; we had used them before however it was about a year ago.
We ordered on a Saturday night at about 8pm, I would imagine this to be one of their busiest times. Yes, we were lazy, we wanted delivery. I don’t understand why people collect when you can have it delivered fro free. 30 minutes was quoted for delivery.
We ordered:
- A 7” regular crust - Pepperoni Passion @ £5:00
- A 13.5” dominator (stuffed base)- ½ and ½ Margarita/Tuna, @ £11:10
- A 13.5” thin crust - Cheese Steak Melt @ £14:00
- A 11.5” thin crust - Hawaiian (Ham, Pineapple, Mushrooms) @£13:00
- Chicken strippers (7 chicken goujons) @ £3:80
- Chicken dunkers (6 chicken wings) @ £3:80
- Domino’s Toffee Delight (cheese cake) @ 2:80
- Chocolate Indulgence (sticky chocolate sponge) @ £ 2:80
Yes, I agree we did order a lot (2 adults 2 children) however as I said earlier it was treat time, but we were out-faced and did bin a lot of it!
The food was delivered on time and was piping hot, which did impress me. My son (10yrs) did say his pepperoni was the best pizza he had eaten, so I had to steal a piece, and it was good, the outer crust was very light and just crispy enough. The dominator crust which consisted of “a stuffed pizza base using regular and thin crust dough, infused with a cheese and herb sauce” was actually really good, but I could not really tell the difference from the other bases when I did a blind taste.
All the pizza’s were really good, the thin crust ones were very good, just crispy enough with more than enough topping, so don’t be tempted to order extra toppings should you order from Domino’s, it will be money wasted.
The starters and puddings were surprisingly good, I expected typical take away standards, but I have to say they were bistro standard. I suppose our only complaint would be that we ordered coleslaw and it did not arrive, however it was not on the bill, saying that they did repeat my order on the phone and probably like most people I just said, "Yes, yes and yes", not really listening (typical man).
A little tip. If you’re ordering from Domino’s (and as far as pizza’s go I would strongly advise Domino’s) ask for any offers they might have on. They often have really good ones on.
As it stands we ordered enough for another 2 to 3 people which makes it reasonable value, which would therefore have cost around £9.00 per head.
