As well as the outside catering for which he has built up an enviable reputation over the last three years, Gareth also temps anyone who walks past his lovely deli/cafe in Menston's High Street.

"I worked in restaurant management for many years, but was looking for a new challenge. I am a self-trained cook, but I think this helps me to experiment and to try out completely new ideas. I like to do it my way! I will do anything the client wants from a single meal to a posh dinner party or a buffet for up to 200 or so people. The food can be hot or cold and I will follow the client's ideas, but I do have lots of original ideas myself which I am always willing to discuss."

"When I started Solo I had a clear vision in my mind. The look, feel and location had to be right with the shop crammed full of well-sourced produce, a feast for the eye as well as the appetite and the aroma of beautiful bounty to get tongues wagging. The shop is probably a little small but I have extended upwards and downwards, into the cellar. However, I also concentrate quite heavily on my website www.delicasolo.co.uk, which brings me in a lot of business."

"I have always used fresh produce from the very best local suppliers and shall continue to do so. I had forgotten just how good bread could be until I tasted fresh baked bread from our suppliers in Otley."
