I recently dined at Clark’s in Heaton Bradford, It was Sunday lunchtime and as usual I was suffering from a heavy night before. We had decided on dinner but really couldn't face the hassle and bustle of a pub or the Sunday shoppers in town. I decided that we would try out Clark’s. Clark’s is situated on the main road running though Heaton and is very easy to find should you never have been before.

We arrived and were greeted by pleasant staff and asked if we would like a drink in the bar before going into the dining area. We opted to go straight into the dining area, however the bar area had a nice relaxed feel about it and I could have quite easily settled into one the leather sofas. The dining area is light and airy; perfect for a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was nicely full with a good mix of ages.

The menu has a great choice and we opted for a soup of the day (leek and potato) and stir fried Mussels with garlic, black beans, ginger, chillies, spring onions and fresh coriander. I have to say the mussel dish was one of the best tasting dishes I have ever tasted.  Ten out of ten to the chef.

For our main courses we had roast beef and Yorkshire pudding and twice baked broccoli soufflé with cottage cheese and pineapple crisps.  Both dishes were amazing.  The beef was so tender with great tasting gravy and the broccoli soufflé was light and fluffy.

Starters and mains over we were brought the sweet menu, but we were both too full to try them. However, the sweets kept going past smelling and looking great.

The two course option for Sunday lunch costs £12.95 and three courses costs £16.95.

I would defiantly recommend a trip to Clark’s the head chef has a vast amount of experience and formerly worked at the Devonshire Arms Hotel.
