Checklist - 6 to 3 months before
As the wedding day gets nearer the groom’s party should be informed of the dress code in order for them to hire or buy outfits. The bridesmaids outfits should also be chosen and ordered and all accessories chosen for the bride and bridesmaids. The dress code should subtly be made clear to family and guests at this point.
The wedding rings should be chosen, bought and insured and a wedding list drawn up. Presents should be purchased for the best man, ushers and attendants and favours for the reception should be ordered if they are required.
The order of service should be double-checked and any amendments made. This should be shown to the minister or registrar. Don’t forget to print order of service spares.
The bride should send off all forms for her new passport and all visas or inoculations should be investigated for the honeymoon and arranged if necessary. At this point the groom should organize a wedding-night hotel. Maps and a list of nearby B&B’s should be enclosed in the wedding invitation. The invitation should also include the wedding list and any no-children rules if applicable.
Once this is all done any pre- or post-wedding lunches should be arranged and the hen and stag party details confirmed.
